The position
 
 
The Commercial Manager leads all commercial activities for the Boulder Creek Wind Farm, including civil works, electrical works, WTG transport and installation, substations, and commissioning.
Reporting to the Project Director and working closely with cross‑functional teams and contractors, this role supports strong commercial governance, contract compliance, cost and claims management, forecasting, and stakeholder alignment throughout construction and commissioning.
This position plays a key role in delivering a safe, timely, and cost‑effective renewable energy project while upholding RES’ commitment to safety, sustainability, inclusion, and transparent commercial practice.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial administration, ensuring contract compliance and timely management of claims, variations, and notices.
  • Produce accurate contractual documentation and instructions.
  • Manage workload independently and guide a small team to deliver strong commercial outcomes.
  • Apply sound judgement and negotiation to support risk decisions and stakeholder alignment.
  • Maintain governance across cost control, forecasting, risk, valuations, and reporting.
  • Monitor performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support resolution of design, constructability, and compliance issues.
  • Build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, values‑driven culture.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (any discipline), Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Commercial/Contracts Management, Business or related field.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and contractual principles within large infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Experience administering construction contracts (EPC/BOP/WTG/ TSI or similar).
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to independently manage complex commercial interfaces, risks and competing priorities.
  • Competence in Microsoft Excel, Word and project/financial reporting systems.
  • Full Australian Driver’s Licence.
Skills
 
  • Experience with civil and electrical Balance of Plant scopes (access roads, hardstands, foundations, cabling, substations, etc.) and Wind Turbine Generator.
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector (wind, solar or BESS).
  • Familiarity with Australian construction legislation, safety regulations and environmental compliance.
  • Experience working within a client side or owner’s engineer environment.
Experience
  • Proven experience in commercial management or contract administration on major infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated capability in cost forecasting, valuations, claims assessment and change management.  
  • Experience preparing detailed commercial reports for senior leaders.
  •  A background working in dynamic site‑based environments and multidisciplinary project teams
